Role

You’ll support our clients to live the lives that they want. This could see you doing pretty much anything – from day-to-day things like cooking or helping with finances, to day trips and craft projects.

It varies from person to person, but it’s always about building trust, creating opportunities, and encouraging what’s possible. You’ll also support them to develop relationships and play an active part in their local communities.

Responsibilities

We put people at the centre of everything. Every person that our staff supports has their own needs and personality, and your responsibilities will reflect that. Here are some of the areas that you are most likely to be involved in:

  • Health and wellbeing. This may include supporting someone to make positive choices about eating well, taking exercise and maintaining good hygiene. Our clients often need help maintaining positive links with their GP, CPN and any other organisation who interacts with them to maintain a healthy mental wellbeing.
  • Leisure and social activities. Taking part in a local classes, painting, or going out for a coffee, be prepared to do a bit of everything! Many of us know the positives that come from having a hobby and the people that we support would love that chance to experience them too but they need help to get involved in the local community to stay happy and healthy.
  • Daily living skills. Things like paying bills, attending appointments, shopping, cooking, and cleaning can be challenging for those that we support.
  • Our clients can be vulnerable to abuse or exploitation. As their Support Worker you’ll make sure their rights are upheld and they are being treated with consideration and respect.
