We, as staff, get the freedom of working with our clients to pick when we work. It depends on what they need, for instance doctors appointments etc, but we normally work Monday-Friday and around the hours that works best for the client and ourselves.

Well this weekend, a bank holiday weekend, I chose to see my client smile from ear to ear as they once again developed themselves with a further qualification. My client suffered from a lack of confidence (I typed suffers originally but they are winning against it so I felt the need to be more positive) and has found a passion that could lead in to a career. A career was NEVER something that we discussed as one of their initial goals, not even when talking to their family. Within a year they have used me as a safety net, not something to rely on but something there to support them if needed be – I suppose the job title of support worker fits better than I first thought.

I am so proud to see my client flourish, just like the nails they enjoy beautifying, they have built up their layers to become strong, shiny and something to be proud of – who would have thought that I would understand the ins and outs of acrylic nail art, maybe I am growing too.
